Who are Doug and Chris?

Doug and Chris are qualified Relationship Coaches who survived infidelity in their own marriage and came out of it much stronger. So they can really walk the talk!

Their aim is to help as many people as possible survive infidelity in their marriages or relationships.

Their lives changed in October 2006 when Doug admitted to Chris that he had been continually unfaithful to her right from the start of their 24 year marriage. This included a string of one night stands and an 18 month affair with her best friend.

As they were told so often at the time, and they are continually reminded now, that would have signalled the end to most marriages. But, despite the huge challenges that lay ahead of them, they managed to survive it all and stay together.

Not only that, but they now enjoy a relationship which is stronger and at a totally different level than it ever was before.

“We feel that if we can achieve that, anyone can as long as they want it badly enough, they are prepared to work at it and they know how to go about it.

When we were facing our challenges we recognised that although we had the support of other coaches and although being coaches ourselves we already knew the theory of what we should be doing, when it actually happens to you it’s a whole new ballgame.”

Doug and Chris wanted to be able to learn from other couples who had actually experienced what they were going through and survived it together but they couldn’t find anyone.

Soon after they got back together again, they were approached by a journalist about featuring their story in one of the national newspapers here in the UK. They didn’t feel entirely comfortable about exposing the inner secrets of their marriage to the public but agreed to do so in the hope that they could inspire others that surviving infidelity is possible.

That led to a string of features in the UK national press and interviews on national TV and radio which are still going on.

“It made us realise that we were achieving our goal in inspiring others so we have now made it our mission to become the couple that we couldn’t find when we were so desperately searching. We want to use our own experiences to help as many others as we can to survive infidelity just as we did.”
